So explain to them that you're a 45 year old German trucker, overweight and balding. That should cool down even oversexed teen gamers considerably.

Player 1: OMG You're the worst monk ever!
Me left the game.

Bear in mind they ran ahead while I was still recovering from Rebirth and I kept getting attacked with Engery Drain. First time I've ever left a group high and dry.
This is why I no longer heal.

n00b warrior: HEAL MONK!
Healing Monk: I am, unfortunately you keep running into a new battle before my energy recharges
n00b warrior: OMG WE HAVE 2 MONKS WHY CANT U KEEP US @ FULL HP?!
Me: Because I'm a smiter, dumbass. If you didn't notice me saving your ass by running up beside you and AoE owning everything that would kill you in one hit with your starter armour.
n00b warrior: OMFG WHAT KIND OF A MONK DOESNT HEAL?!
Me: a protector?
n00b warrior left the game
5 minutes later
MISSION COMPLETE

We've had a monkey leave us in UW last night for no reason other than some people still had to catch up to the rest of the group after falling behind. Nobody was being attacked or anything; we were totally owning UW, but maybe the monk got tired of being useful or something.

But yeah I'd imagine sometimes people expect to just be crazy and reckless and live as long as a primary monk is in the party list.

Anyway, I think the most overused phrase in GW is:
"GLF Monk"
followed by
"WTS Godly Shield +45 health in stance -2 damage in stance req 9! Only 10k"

My most successful recruiting line for a pick-up group:

Want to give your healing skills a good workout? We suck, and we need a monk!

I had two offers within seconds.

Not, technically, overused but once is enough:
(at ToA)- "I'm a monk. Can someone please show me how to solo UW?"

That's a great line!
I usually say "Monk-friendly group needs second healer .... etc.." the Monk-friendly part is a grabber.

Post-Searing Ascalon City:

"WTS <insert crap item>!"

Anywhere:

"<Person> starts dancing." (Although I can't say it isn't amusing to watch...)
"<person> jumps."
"LFG <random quest easily doable with henchies>, need monk!"

These are the phrases that are probably the most annoying outside missions. Honestly. And why do people feel the need to spam up emotes? Why can't they be satisfied by jumping once?

See you're kind are the reason people keep advertising in general chat, turn back on your trade chat please.

I think I get the biggest kick out of people telling people not to advertise in general chat and then this massive spam of ads after such a statement by many players. The worst thing you can do is "demand" or "tell" someone what to do in this game cause you can't stop them and you only make them be even more aggressive towards you because of it. Now if you had some kind of zap button or if reporting something actually was a possiblity, which neither are then many might stop doing it. But, without policing people are going to do what they please and telling them to stop or blah blah blah just makes them do it even more.

Ok just for you I'll turn it on so I can see what I don't want to buy, or see that you're dancing when I don't care. Just for you. Haha.
